How to prepare for a tournament
What players and parents can do before a Level Up Showcase or a family tournament.
The week before
Keep practice short and familiar. Putting and short shots build the most confidence in a week.
Talk through the format so nothing on the day is a surprise: how many holes, who is playing with whom, and where parents will be.
On the day
Arrive early, bring water and sunscreen, and let your child carry what they can. Independence is part of what is being practised.
Coaches look for honesty, pace of play, respect for playing partners and how a player recovers after a poor shot.
Afterwards
Ask about one thing that went well before anything else. Scores matter less than whether your child wants to play again.
Your next step
Showcases run as each four-class session ends. See what is on the calendar.
